| Ask Carl Magnus Palm The Hep Stars were huge in Sweden in the 60s - do you think there's justification for a similar book about Björn and The Hootenanny Singers?
CMP: I have almost completed work on such a book - although that book is more a discography, with a less extensive biography part - but this will not be a very extravagantly produced volume. The Hootenanny Singers book will be published in English only; at least, that's my plan for the moment. The group were huge in Sweden at the time, but the brutal truth is that the retroactive interest in the specifics of their career is not so great. So to answer your question honestly: there is probably considerably less justification for such a book - not that I personally will let that stop me from having it published! I also want to stress that although work is almost completed, in terms of writing the manuscript, I don't know when the Hootenanny Singers book will be published. Ask another question |
