ABBA Teen's were interviewed in the Stockholm morning paper Svenska Dagbladet today.

Without bullshit and platform shoes - Questions and answers: ABBA Teens

ABBA Teens: With greatest enthusiasm are Marie Serneholt, 16 Sara Lumholt, 15, Dhani Lennevald, 15 and Amit Paul, 16, handling the demanding role as the rebirth ABBA.

They never played ABBA at kindergarten. They weren't even planned when Waterloo became the winning song at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974.

ABBA Teens is the name of the band. The members were picked by hand at auditions at the dance school of Lasse Kuhler. They are all in 9th grade and they lead a hectic life at the moment. They have just released the single *Mamma Mia* and this summer they are going to perform at festivals and park stages. And then they are to do promotion performances ahead of the album release in August.

Isn't it hard for you, who don't belong to the "not-enchanted" generation, to act as a rebirth ABBA?

- No, I guess it had been harder to do it if you had been around in their heydays, says Sara. At that time you knew more of what you had to live up with. And at the same time ABBA themselves had done the hard work with the audience. All the songs are hits from the start.

What kind of relation do you have to ABBA?

-When I was a little girl and could not sleep, my mother used to carry me around, while dancing to ABBA. I think they are really great. This is not something I have been made to say. The music is singable there are songs that all kind of people can like.

Will you be styled like the original?

- No. We will just look cool. No bullshit and no platform shoes. You can't dance in these, you know. We're ABBA teens. Everything we do we do our own way, including the dance. And I guess we? well, dance better than them, you might say.

How long will you keep doing this? Will there be a sequel to the debut-album?

-We'll see. If it works I guess will go on as long as it's fun, just like ABBA did.
