9:58 this morning saw me arriving at Stockholm department store, Åhléns. 10:00 on the dot, the hunky blonde security guard opened up and in I went. I could tell right away that for once they had done the right thing - one section of one of the walls was filled floor to ceiling with the A-Teens CD. The cover is pretty impressive enough when you just see one but when you see hundreds all together it is pretty amazing. And they threw in a few of the cassette versions to add to the effect.

You have probably all seen the cover on the ABBAMAIL site and some of you would have seen the back cover and centrespread of the booklet on the unofficial site. But there is more - each member has their own full page in the booklet - perfect for autographs. There are also some small pics of each member by themselves on the back seat of that car which was on the "Mamma Mia" single as well as some other small protraits. Very nice packaging. And if you are wondering, there are no lyrics.

The one thing of interest I noted when I first opened the booklet was that there are a number of different producers for different songs. I also noticed that the "Voulez Vous" track was recorded at Polar Studios. And of course, "This record is dedicated to the most inspiring songwriters, singers and artists there have ever been. I guess you all know who we are thinking of!"

And the music? Fabulous. Much better than I thought after listening to the snippets on the unofficial site. They have taken 11 of ABBA's songs and certainly injected something unique into each one. The single chime of a church bell at the beginning of "Gimme Gimme Gimme", the male echo for the first verse of "The Name Of The Game", similarly the male echoing in "Our Last Summer", the frantic beat of "Take A Chance On Me", the almost laid back feeling of "Dancing Queen", the quiet helicopter sound at the beginning of "One Of Us", the hesitant sounding beginning to "Voulez Vous", the almost acapella build up to one of the verses in "SOS" and the slight musical deviation on the keyboard in the middle of "Lay All Your Love On Me". And of course, we already know about "Mamma Mia" and "Super Trouper".

And a follow up single, they may as well flip a coin - there are so many to choose from. Some of the ones which leap to mind are "Gimme Gimme Gimme", "SOS", "Voulez Vous" or "Take A Chance On Me".

I have only heard it the once so far but I just know that it's going to get better with each listen. I've just started listening to the album for a second time and I'm already picking up new things! As a TV host used to say on an old Australian pop show - do yourself a favour. You won't be disappointed.

ABBA's music lives on!
