"Super Trouper" is the new A-Teens single. While waiting for the first album of the Swedish A-Teens (before known as ABBA-Teens) on 9th August the new single "Super Trouper" will be released. Just like the previous release it's an ABBA classic done in a modern way. The album (release date 30th August) is full of ABBA hits and that's why it's called "The ABBA Generation". But the foursome has also other plans besides ABBA so record company Stockholm Records recently announced that the Swedish quartet has changed their name from ABBA-Teens in A-Teens with immediate effect. "The band is the members of ABBA very grateful that they were allowed to use the name until now but as they want to sing non ABBA songs in the future it's not appropriate using ABBA-Teens anymore". The success of the A-Teens single "Mamma Mia" in Scandinavia (no. 1 and double Platinum in Sweden and a top 10 hit in Denmark and Norway) is continued in the Netherlands where the single is climbing in the charts. The A-Teens debut album, called "The ABBA Generation" is expected in August/September. Also from the Dutch Universal Website: * You can win the new A-Teens CD "The ABBA Generation" by answering the question "What does the name ABBA stand for?" * There's a biography of ABBA * There's an ABBA DeskTop Theme. (It's not a new Universal one, it was made 10-3-98 by Marv Blackford and it has a big "Chiquitita" single cover picture) INTERESTING FACT: Did you know that "Mamma Mia" by A Teens is a bigger hit in the Netherlands than the original done by ABBA? The original ABBA song only made it to no. 13 in the Dutch Singles top 40 while ABBA Teens version was a top 10 hit (even reaching no. 7).
