Definitive Collection DVD - New and improved!

Have you, like myself, been afraid to play your The Definitive Collection DVD on random?? Frightened of unexplainable jumpcuts in "Waterloo" and "Head Over Heels". Too scared to watch "Chiquitita" or "Thank You For The Music" for fear the picture quality will make you dry-reach?? Petrified of that obnoxious saxophone ruining "Ring Ring"??

Fear not - help is at hand.......

I risked it on Friday & bought (again) The Definitive Collection DVD from HMV in Pitt St (Sydney) HOPING, PRAYING, it would be the new improved version. I got it home & checked the menu - "Gimme!" was spelt correctly........looking good.........."No Hay..." had a different menu picture........press play......... "Waterloo" was perfect. BINGO!!!!!!!

The new improved The Definitive Collection DVD is fantastic. Seven of the faulty songs (Waterloo, Ring Ring, Eagle, Thank You For The Music, One Man, One Woman, Chiquitita & Head Over Heels) are now perfect and crystal clear. At last "Ring Ring" is available full & complete with correct soundtrack. "Eagle" & "Chiquitita" are just gorgeous and amazingly clear. There are a couple of little video-tape type glitches in "Thank You For The Music", but that is nothing compared to how awful it was before. Also they have done something to the first line of "One Man, One Woman" so you can see Frida's face more (not just red), but it is an improvement. That only leaves the lines on The Day Before You Came and On And On And On (out of sync), but they never really bothered me at all....

So now I am stoked - no more complaints about The Definitive Collection DVD - it is the best. This is what I was hoping for before it's release. Such a pity we couldn't get the full impact from the start, but that's life. I think it's great that we ABBA fans have so much influence over these things these days.
