Here's the official press release regarding the oh so long awaited definitive DVD/VHS. The original release date for most of the world is July 15 and for the USA it is projected to be July 23. More than 20 years have passed since their last studio sessions but ABBA still are among the most popular groups of all time. Hits like Waterloo, SOS, Fernando, Dancing Queen, Take A Chance On Me, The Winner Takes It All and Super Trouper are as loved today as they were back in the days when ABBA dominated the charts of the world. Today, many remember ABBA just as much for their glittery 70's outfits as for their music, and maybe the most visible proof of that shows in their ground breaking videos. Videos that were made long before MTV and during a time when very few artists made promo-clips as they were called back then. ABBA were regarded pioneers within this area. Most clips were directed by Lasse Hallström, today a director of world fame after pictures like "My Life As A Dog", "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" and "The Ciderhouse Rules". The Definitive Collection collects for the first time all the official ABBA clips including three Spanish films that until today as been commercially unavialable on VHS. We also get 2 videos from ABBA TV- appearances: When I Kissed The Teacher from the ABBA-Dabba-Doo show and the performance of Dancing Queen from the Royal Wedding Gala in June 1976. All videos have been digitally remastered from the original tapes and are synchronized with the latest digitally remastered ABBA sound recordings - this means both picture and sound are now better than ever. The DVD contains everyone of ABBA's 30 videos including a photo gallery and 5 bonus clips. In the booklet you'll find Carl Magnus Palm's detailed story of how the videos were made.
