Do I have ABBA GOLD on DVD?

Yes! I have it - and I love it, of course. I purchased the UK release so I could have it right away - mainly to have everything possible on DVD, even though I have The Definitive Collection, I wanted this release for the two videos on DVD and the bonus tracks.

I think it's great to have an accompanying DVD for the GOLD album. This album has such a great history and is well known around the world by now and definitely should be taken to any new heights possible. With the UK chart rules and the subsequent re-release of GOLD, the DVD sales can now be added to the CD sales resulting in more 'exposure' for ABBA with this release being back in the charts.

I love the packaging and the presentation - I'm a sucker for the Black 'gold' look, and the menus are great and very classy looking. The color scheme is gold, of course instead of the white with The Definitive Collection. I haven't done a video to video comparison (if one is needed), but the quality of the videos is excellent and doesn't seem to be any different from The Definitive Collection, nor should they be from what I understand. I like the way the menus 'snap' back and forth from side to side and the 'ABBA GOLD' comes forward at the top of the screen when you pick a video to view. The look and feel of the menu screens is similar to The Definitive Collection with a picture from each video and the number of the video in the same square. The square boxed feel of the video menu is retained with the videos presented in two rows. I would've liked the 'random' option again - I thought that was so very cool with The Definitive Collection release. This is a great option to turn on and let the DVD player decide what track is played next!

I'll be buying the US release, of course, when it comes out so I can contribute to the sales figures for the USA too!
