Shelley - Guest Speaker

The fabulous Shelley Benson was production co-ordinator for ABBA - The Movie. Shelley worked for both Reg Grundy Productions and RCA during the 1970s. She has a unique perspective of the ABBA phenomenon in Australia. She kept us enthralled with stories about the making of the movie, behind the scenes goings on with ABBA and the film crew. And she is one hell of a lovely person.

After her interview with Graeme, Shelley was happy to show the crowd her scrapbook and photo album from her time with Grundy's. Some amazing shots. Even an old ABBA Fan Club newsletter from 1978 (embarrassed or what, Graeme???)

Australia's own Frida, Mr. John McKechnie catches up with Shelley. They worked together after Shelley left RCA and joined the Greater Union Organisation (major film distribution company in Australia).	When Graeme ran the Australian Fan Club back in the 70s, Shelley was his contact at RCA from 1978 onwards.


After a hectic interview and then showing her photo album and scrapbook to the crowd, Shelley relaxed on the balcony with a few ABBAMAILers. Here she is seen chatting to Matti Crocker from Queensland.
Shelley explains the shots in her photo album to an enraptured crowd at THE ABBA GENERATION. The colour shots are from her trip around Australia with Lasse Hallstrom, scouting locations for ABBA - The Movie. The large black and white shot shows a young Shelley during the shoot for ABBA - The Movie in Australia.
	Shelley's young 8 year old daughter is a major ABBA fan and is seen here loking through her Mum's photo album at THE ABBA GENERATION. Also pictured are Joel Bennett, Patrick Jauffret and Steve Humphreys.
This was the reaction about 1 nano-second after Shelley said 'crowd around everyone'. Shelley did this so people could look at the fabulous photo album and scrapbook she had brought along to THE ABBA GENERATION. She acted as narrator!
