ABBAMAIL's mission is to maintain and preserve a cohesive on-line community of ABBA fans whilst providing information services for ABBA fans across the world. The objectives of our community are to:- - Empower ABBA fans to communicate information, ideas and views;
- Educate and inform ABBA fans with a strong focus on the rich history of ABBA;
- Encourage ABBA fans to instigate contact and develop friendships with fans across the world;
- Enhance the self-esteem and confidence of ABBA fans;
- Monitor the ABBA and related commercial activities of the former members of ABBA and their record companies
- Advocate the interests of ABBA fans at all times.
To facilitate this we will:- - provide a private, mature on-line community with an atmosphere where community members can be themselves, communicate freely and make friends with other fans across the world;
- ensure the membership of our community comprises fans who share our goals and who wish to actively participate;
- provide a comprehensive ABBA website with strong focus on ABBAMAILers and fans themselves;
- provide a comprehensive and timely web-based ABBA news service and archival resources for the broader fan community;
- promote and encourage the use of computers and the internet by the broader fan community;
- provide a community chat channel and internet forum open to the broader ABBA fan community;
- adhere to the concept of "sensible freedom of speech" in all of our activities;
- where financially practical, produce and distribute newsletters and organise fan events;
- encourage ABBA fan organisations to form strategic alliances for the benefit of each other and to enhance the strength of the fan movement;
We aim to be completely self funded through: - Charging a modest monthly fee for subscription to our Internet Mailing List
- Selling a small range of ABBA and ABBAMAIL related products via our webshop and mail-order service
- Financial contributions / donations from ABBA fans who visit and enjoy ABBAMAIL.com
