Here are some of my concert memories on today the 20th Anniversary of the Chicago concert.

After terrorizing the ticket agent at the Auditorium Theater about just exactly WHEN the tickets were going on sale, I finally got the sale date. My father drove me to the TicketTron at Sears (a local department store) at 7:00 in the morning on his way to work. I was convinced there would be long lines. I was wrong. By myself I waited until 9:00 am and when the Ticket booth was open, I ran as fast as I could (why I don't know as I was the only person waiting) to the counter. I was lucky enough to get 4 tickets in the second row center, so I guess all that running paid off :-)

Like Kevin said, the line outside the Auditorium Theater was huge, and traveled down Michigan Ave. I remember some guy with really long hair and a white jumpsuit trying to buy tickets from the people standing in line. He was getting more and more upset by the minute as I think he was realizing that he was out of luck. We finally were let in, and I ran (again) up to the booth selling the merchandise. I bought the Tour Shirt and Booklet, and my brother bought the Tour Poster and Lighted Visor. I still have the visor and it still works! However my t-shirt met a terrible fate, as many years later my mother decided it was too old and full of holes for me to wear, and used it for a dust rag!!!! THE HORROR!!!!

Anyway.....I could not believe that I would be sitting so close to them. I, like Kevin, could hardly control myself. I did sneak a camera into the show, and I was able to snap off about two roles of film. Looking back, I'm sure they must not have been too happy with a flash bulb going off every two minutes. Fortunately, the pictures turned out great, and I love to pull them out and look at them from time to time, especially on days like today. As Kevin stated, the music was much rockier than what was on the albums, and the show was so full of energy.

Last note worth mentioning.........the guy that was trying to buy tickets outside the show.......well, he got in somehow. During DQ I turned around to look at the crowd and just watch the people for a minute to just take it all in. I looked to my left and there he was, standing against the wall and dancing like there was no tomorrow. I remember thinking how glad I was that he got in. I wanted to stay after the show and try to meet them by the stage door, but my parents wouldn't let me because I had school the next day. I still tease them about that :-)

Well....that's about it. If you've made it this far, I hope you enjoyed my little flashback. Thanks for reading.
