1976 Press Conference
It's March 1976 again for our Picture of the Month and this time we're at the
ABBA press conference in Sydney, Australia.
This shot was taken by a press photographer during the conference which attracted
media interest from around the country. It was the very first time that ABBA had
visited Australia and their "Best of ABBA" album was already close to one million
copies sold. In a country that barely had a population of 12 million!
During this promotional tour, ABBA would launch their new single "Fernando", appear
on the TV game show "Celebrity Squares" and fly down to Melbourne to appear on
the Don Lane Show where they would perform "SOS" and "Fernando".
