Goods and
Services Tax (GST)
ABBAMAIL is based in Australia and the
Australian Government has introduced a Goods and Services Tax (GST). ABBAMAIL
chose to absorb the cost of this tax and pay it ourselves rather than raising
our prices.
If you're ordering ABBAMAIL merchandise
and you live in Australia, you'll be pleased to know that we are paying the cost
of GST for your orders. This means you don't pay any additional costs for the
GST.
If you live outside Australia, the GST
does not apply to you but the amount is not deducted from your order. Instead it
is used towards covering part of the costs of posting your order via airmail.
While you only pay 15% extra for airmail postage and packaging on any ABBAMAIL
order, the real costs can be significantly higher - up to 40% in some
cases.
Customs and
Duty
If you live outside Australia, your
ABBAMAIL order may have customs and duty charges levied on it when it arrives in
your country. These charges are your responsibility and must be paid for by you.
The charges vary dramatically from country to country - from nothing to very
expensive. Countries like Belgium, Norway and Denmark not only levy charges but
can also delay the delivery of your parcel for weeks while they decide how much
to charge. ABBAMAIL has no control or involvement with customs and duty charges
and cannot advise how much you will have to pay.
